The leaf is considered one of the important plant organs for the treatment of various diseases such as burning sensation, wounds, ulcers, inflammations, leprosy, scabies, cough and rheumatism. The aim of present research was focused on the pharmacognostical, physico-chemical and phytochemical properties of H. benghalensis. Various parameters like microscopy, physicochemical (ash & extractive values), fluorescence analyses and phytochemical profile for leaf part was studied and the salient diagnostic features were documented.
